Genealogy & Women's History Month 2005

By Bluedolphin Crow March is Womens History Month and this years theme is Women Change America. This year I thought Id help you change American by providing you with links that explain how to locate your female ancestors. As you know, if you have been doing genealogy work for any length of time, our women ancestors are almost invisible. Im going to rectify this situation by showing you how to find those illusive women. The best way to locate your women ancestors is by discovering their maiden name through marriage records. After marriage records the next best way to locate a womans maiden name is on birth records. These are sometimes hard to find if you dont have the supporting information.
